PROPOSAL OF REQUALIFICATION FOR THE CASARÃO SELARIA ESTRELA
Selaria Estrela; Prados; Requalification
The Casarão Selaria Estrela, located in Prados’ downtown, Minas Gerais, was built in the beginning of the XIX century by the priest José Maria Pamplona who has established in the city urban perimeter since the crises of the gold exploration and the migration of some groups that no longer depended on the metal exploration - almost extinct – from the countryside to the city. The building, registered as a municipal edifice, recently passed by a deep disfigurement and, because the work was stopped and the maintenance was incorrect, is degrading very fast. This paper aims to take a critical look based on the physical and historical aspects about the building and the Prados’ city thus we can provide solutions for his proper requalification as an important exponent in the place’s history.
