TEACHING PORTUGUESE IN GUINEA-BISSAU: TEACHING PRACTICES AND TEACHING MATERIAL IN HIGH SCHOOL
Linguistic marks, noun agreement; Portuguese language teaching.
It was decided, in this dissertation, to investigate the linguistic marks of ethnic and Guinean languages in the oral texts of the students of Liceu Nacional Kwame Nkrumah. Such research aims, in general, to analyze and identify such linguistic marks, highlighting the
nominal agreement in the variety of Portuguese of Guinean students as well as talking about the model of language education that should be for the Guinean context. As specific objectives, the following are delimited: to analyze the agreement in the marking of noun phrases; analyze the plural marking in the position of the noun phrase; to analyze the marks of ethnic languages and the Guinean language in the speech of Liceu Kwame Nkrumah students.
This dissertation intends to help improve the teaching of Portuguese in Guinea-Bissau, a country of many languages that coexist with the Portuguese that is spoken in that territory. As a methodological path, to obtain linguistic data, semi-structured interviews were carried out with 40 high school students from Liceu Nacional Kwame Nkrumah, on November 10th and 21st, 2021. For this purpose, a recording device was used as instruments for data collection. sound system and a cell phone. With such actions, it was verified that the plural of ethnic languages and the Guinean language was not marked and, in relation to linguistic and extralinguistic factors, it was noticed that the age group and mother tongues influenced the marking of the plural.
