Campus Salvador: the Interlingua phenomenon.

Os sujeitos Surdos brasileiros vivem uma situação linguística bastante complexa: possuem a Libras como primeira língua e, por isso, são obrigados a aprender a língua portuguesa (LP) escrita a fim de participar das interações sociais com os não usuários da Libras e para acessar aos bens culturais escritos. Porém, a maneira como tais sujeitos têm acessado as unidades escolares tem-se mostrado insatisfatória em garantir letramento efetivo em LP, dado que eles se encontram inseridos em sala de aula junto com alunos ouvintes e as aulas são ministradas para eles utilizando-se a LP como língua de instrução, sem considerar sua língua. Dessa forma, esta pesquisa busca analisar a escrita de estudantes Surdos do 3º ano Ensino Médio do IFBA, campus Salvador, a fim de identificar quais as principais dificuldades que eles apresentam na produção de textos escritos, bem como classificar os níveis de interlíngua em que sua escrita se encontra. Esta pesquisa classifica-se como aplicada de abordagem qualitativa e interpretativista, descritiva e, quanto aos procedimentos técnicos, caracteriza-se como estudo de caso. Os procedimentos metodológicos adotados envolvem levantamento bibliográfico sobre o tema, levantamento do corpus obtido a partir das redações a serem produzidas pelos alunos Surdos informantes da pesquisa, análise do corpus a fim de classificar o nível de interlíngua presente nas redações dos estudantes; além de entrevista realizada a fim de descobrir a sua relação com a LP em casa e na escola a fim de conseguir informações para a interpretação dos dados que serão fornecidos na análise das redações. Espera-se que a pesquisa aponte que o ensino de LP para Surdos, mediatizado pela Libras, utilizando práticas educacionais de ensino de L2, possa proporcionar aos estudantes surdos uma compreensão mais aprofundada do funcionamento da LP que os auxilie tanto na compreensão, como na produção de textos escritos mais inteligíveis.

Brazilian Deaf subjects live in a very complex linguistic situation: they have Libras as their first language and, therefore, are obliged to learn written Portuguese Language (PL) in order to participate in social interactions with non-Libras users and to access the written cultural assets. However, the way in which these subjects have accessed the schools has been unsatisfactory in guaranteeing effective literacy in PL, given that they are inserted in the classroom along with hearing students and classes are taught for them using PL as a language of instruction, regardless of its language. Thus, this research seeks to analyze the writing of Deaf students in the 3rd year of High School at IFBA, Salvador campus, in order to identify the main difficulties, they have in the production of written texts, as well as to classify the interlanguage levels in which their writing is found. This research is classified as applied with a qualitative and interpretive, descriptive approach and, regarding technical procedures, it is characterized as a case study. The methodological procedures adopted involve a bibliographic survey on the subject, a survey of the corpus obtained from the essays to be produced by the Deaf students who were the research informants, analysis of the corpus in order to classify the level of interlanguage present in the students' essays; in addition to an interview carried out in order to discover its relationship with LP at home and at school in order to obtain information for the interpretation of the data that will be provided in the analysis of the essays. It is expected that the research points out that the teaching of LP for the Deaf, mediated by Libras, using educational practices of teaching L2, can provide deaf students with a deeper understanding of the functioning of the LP that helps them both in understanding and in the production more intelligible written texts.
