  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • This work seeks to develop a comparative study between current and future accessibility conditions for the Metropolitan Region of Salvador, identifying possible impacts on metropolitan land planning, and demonstrating the importance of its use for mobility planning. in the Metropolitan Region of Salvador. Like any network, the transport network must be efficient and for this must be planned and it must integrate the territory in order to interconnect its areas. Its efficiency is also related to how accessible the network is to the population. Accessibility indicators reveal how accessible the network is and how much it is favoring and facilitating travel. The Metropolitan Region of Salvador has undergone structural interventions in the area of mobility. The problem that arises is whether the future highcapacity transport network being deployed will actually meet the accessibility needs of the metropolis and its region. Associated with this issue arises the need to reflect on the information and parameters that are used (or not) to support these projects and political decisions since the region does not follow the logic of planning to then execute and instead reverses order without solid subsidies that justify such actions. This paper discusses the importance of accessibility studies and the use of the accessibility indicator to support the urban and mobility plans, as well as the decision-making process. Propositions have consequences, these can be positive or negative. Interventions can contribute to improving accessibility for the resident population, inducing occupation, and enabling pressure in environmentally sensitive areas. It is observed that MSY and its population will not be favored with a significant improvement of the accessibility indicators, with some exceptions.
