A proposal to find roots of functions in high school, using numerical methods of bisection and Newton-Raphson
Function Roots, Continuous Functions, Numerical Methods and Applications
In this work, we will present a proposal for teaching the bisection and Newton-Raphson numerical methods for high school students. In the beginning, we will study some ways to find the real roots of polynomial functions. Next, we will cover continuous functions and the intermediate value theorem. Finally, we will present the numerical methods and their applications. In the applications of numerical methods, we will use the iterative process to find the approximate solution, simultaneously with GeoGebra software.
