It will be used Materialist Discourse Analysis as theory and methodology to study the discourse sequences classified as fake news by fact-checking agencies, which will be taken in the present work as determining parameter for a given discursive sequence to be classified as fake news, and also as source of access to the fake news to be analyzed, given its evanescent trait. The theme of the discourse sequences is education, considering the conditions of production of discourse of Brazilian election period of 2018, as the year in question was the one in which most of the fake news built and shared were related to education. Furthermore, it turns to be necessary to analyze fake news in a context in which the Ideological State Apparatuses (Althusser’s concept) have its truth power contested.
