SUMMARY:

Health care for people with Disabilities (PwD) is currently guided by the Care Network for People with Disabilities (RCPCD), which has among its main objectives the expansion of access and qualification of care for these population in the Unified Health System (SUS), with coordination of Primary Care (PHC). At the PHC configuration currently coexist two models of organization: Family Health Units and Traditional Basic Units and the main objective of this project is to investigate the association of these models and the health practices developed by PHC professionals in the integral care of PwD. This project is part of the REDECIN Project – Brazil, financed by CNPq. This is a cross-sectional study, with a random sample representative of the population of higher education health professionals from PHC in the 8 states covered by the project. The data collection instrument was a structured questionnaire with 18 questions, self-administered, which had questions that sought to trace the profile of the professional, their knowledge and practices about the health care offered to PwD.
