SUMMARY:

Therapeutic workshops (OT) with artistic resources are clinical and psychosocial devices that emerged with the objective of providing innovations in care technologies in the field of mental health. Its function is to enable the expression, socialization and social reintegration of the participants, given the history of exclusion of people with psychological distress, currently its functioning oscillates between practices that overflow the initial experiences of the workshops, expanding the concepts of care, and activities of occupation of time that date back to historically asylum practices. The study has as general objective to discuss the use of artistic resources as a care strategy in a therapeutic workshop in a mental health service of the CAPS II type, through the specific objectives: collectively build with the service users a therapeutic workshop with artistic resources; investigate the process of implementing a TO that makes use of artistic resources; analyze what users say about the art experience at OT; together with users to develop a OT prototype with artistic resources improved from an action research. The study will follow a qualitative, exploratory, empirical methodology. Users of CAPS II in Jequié, Bahia will participate in the survey. The production of data through action research will take place through participant observation, conversation circle with the aim of elaborating the workshop, holding the workshop and conversation circle with the purpose of evaluating the workshop held. Data will be analyzed through content analysis. It is expected as a final product of this study the elaboration of a workshop prototype improved through the action research process.
