SUMMARY:
The Covid-19 pandemic is considered a serious epidemiological crisis and has had significant impacts on the physical health and psychosocial well-being of the world's population. Concrete and symbolic mourning is experienced in the face of the death of millions of people and the consequences of adopting the health measures and social isolation necessary to mitigate the transmission of the virus. Grief, from the perspective of the Person-Centered Approach, can be understood as the experience of thoughts, feelings and physical sensations related to changes in a person's phenomenological world. Faced with the bereaved, person-centered psychology works with the commitment to unconditionally consider and understand their experience of loss, as well as facilitating awareness of this experience. The aim of this study is to develop and improve a person-centered intervention in the face of grief experienced by individuals who have lost loved ones by Covid-19. It is a qualitative research in the remote modality, carried out from the action research. For data collection, semi-structured interviews and psychological care sessions with the study participants will be carried out and videotaped. The field script will be used as an instrument for monitoring psychological interventions and for improving actions in the care process. Data analysis will be guided by the Content Analysis proposed by Bardin, which consists of three stages: a) pre-analysis, b) material exploration and c) treatment of the results/interpretations of the material. The expected product of the research will be the construction of two scientific articles. The first article will address the discussion of grief from the perspective of the Person-Centered Approach from an empirical perspective through the Content Analysis of the interviews carried out. The second article will focus on the description and analysis of the interventions carried out in psychological care for bereaved family members in the context of Covid-19, including the elements of the field script and the semi-structured interview, based on the stages of the psychotherapy process described by Rogers.
