SUMMARY:

The pandemic context caused some changes in family dynamics. With the suspension of classroom classes and the introduction of teaching in remote format, the supervision of parents and/or caregivers in their children's school activities became more necessary. In view of this scenario, this research aims to know the experiences of parents/caregivers in the school monitoring of children during the pandemic by COVID 19. Parents/caregivers of enrolled children in the initial grades of elementary school (1st to 5th grade) who are on the waiting list for Child Psychotherapy of a Psychology Service of a Higher Education Institution in a countryside city of Bahia will be participating in the survey. The research has an exploratory-descriptive qualitative methodology, with an action research approach, based on the cultural-historical method.
The action research will be carried out through group interventions guided by collaborative dialogical practices that will make it possible to identify demands about the exercise of the parental relationship that are related to school monitoring during a pandemic - COVID 19 and to analyze the meanings and senses arising from the experiences of parents/caregivers in school monitoring.
The analysis procedure will be from the cores of meanings. The present study proposes, as a final product, a Parental Orientation Program – POP as an internship proposal for a Higher Education Institution – HEI.
