The present work is a qualitative research of an ethnographic and memorialistic nature and aims to expand the literacy practices of 7th Grade D students, evening shift, from the Municipal School 15 de Outubro (Salvador, Bahia), starting from the rap genre, establishing a interface between oral and written genres. To this end, the teacher-researcher intends a set of activities that involve the elaboration and application of proposals for listening / reading and rap production that contemplate the specifics of the students' personal and social experiences, valuing their social practices. The choice of this population was due to the fact that the aforementioned group, in addition to presenting some resistance to the pedagogical practices that are imposed on them, uses rap as the spokesperson for their concerns and complaints about their reality, which demonstrates that this is a cultural and social practice that they bring within school walls. In a perspective that focuses on language as a space-time for human interaction, in which the subjects build and are constructed, the question arises, therefore, of how to take advantage of the students' potential, developed in their cultural practices, to expand their literacies, in order to contribute to improvements in your speaking and writing skills. In addition, we also seek to make a theoretical-critical-formative reflection of the teacher-researcher, who will act as a mediator for her students in effective social practices. For this, the mediological orientation followed in this research is based on the theoretical assumptions of: Bakhtin (2010), Bentes (2004), Freire (2014) (2010) Kleiman (2007) Marcuschi (2008), Passegi (2008), Rojo (2009 ), Scheneuwly and Dolz (2004), Souza (2011), Streeet (2014), among others.
