RESUMO:

The work identifies the intangible cultural heritage related to the traditional knowledges and practices that promoted the processes of territorial formation in the Bahian hinterland. The analysis is mainly dedicated to the traditional construction activities at Chapada Diamantina and to the crafts that use clay as a raw material in the municipality of Morro do Chapéu, such as potters and crude brick crafters. For this, we used the information of the master craftsmen of traditional construction at Chapada Diamantina inventory, made by UFBA and Iphan. We considered the disputes between traditional and contemporary production models in the field of symbolic territories. In this way we can understand the dynamics of territorialization, deterritorialization and reterritorialization of the traditional construction structures at Chapada Diamantina.
