FREVOS FOR CELLO.
Cello; Frevo; Brazilian Popular Music
This final conclusion work, presented to the Professional Graduate Program in Music of the Federal University of Bahia – PPGPROM, includes a memorial, an article, the final product and the reports of professional practices. The memorial seeks to synthesize my musical trajectory, my professional master's degree and my experiences with brazilian popular music. In the article, I investigate the main aspects of the frevo genre and seek to make a relationship with the idiom of the cello, seeking theoretical subsidies in order to support my interpretative choices of the recorded works; and the final product consists of the video recording of 3 frevos for cello: Frevo para Nora, by Maria di Cavalcanti; Tic, Toque Frevo!, by Rodolfo Lima and Meloritmias n°14 (frevo), by Ernani Aguiar. Complementing, I present at the end of this work, the reports referring to the professional practices carried out during the course.
