RESUMO:

The present research proposes to investigate a set of clausulametricasacados to the Poetic Classical Latin, that occur in the workOrator de Cicero (106 a.C- 43 a.C). The metrical clauses, metrifications present at the end of the Ciceronian paragraphs, are expressive components characteristic of poetry, related mainly to rhythm and metric, and represent a contribution, directly or indirectly, to the elaboration of oratory discourses, that constitute the scope of the text of Cicero. In defining the best orator, Cicero expresses, in Latin language, his conceptions regarding the form of poetry and oratory, emphasizing similarities and differences. In doing so, he practices a metalanguage that touches on formal questions of Poetics, encompassing definitions and usage of terms such as metric, metrum, oratio, poem, poet, res (content) , uerbum (word), uersus (verse), uox (form of enunciation). The task of the research was to constitute a corpus formed by the contexts-occurrence in which these metric clauses are taken from the Orator, and then propose a translation and a discussion of these clauses translated according to the post-structuralist theory. It is, therefore, an investigation of the expression and poetic concept in the rhetorical discourses circulating in Ancient Rome translated into Italian language. It is hoped that it may contribute to bring new perspectives to the knowledge of poetic codes dispersed in the works of ancient writers, such as the old commentators and grammarians, or even of rhetoricians and orators, such as the Cicero studied here.
