SUMMARY:

This work proposes to discuss two theoretical terms present in the contemporary autobiographical space (ARFUCH, 2010): autofiction and escrevivência. Retracing the origin of the terms, the dissertation intends to investigate narratives associated with these nomenclatures, paying special attention to the books A Chave de Casa (2007), by Tatiana Salem Levy, and O avesso da pele (2020), by Jeferson Tenório, as well as investigating the tensions between both notions, and their form of insertion in the literary field, in order to consider them as fundamental elements for reflection on the incidence of the first person in many current narratives. Thus, in the main understanding of the argument developed throughout this work, both autofiction and escrevivência point to a proliferation of first-person narratives and to the incidence of the autobiographical in many works of the present and this does not just mean an additional concession to the scenario of media spectacularization and prevailing narcissism, but it also opens space for the production of new voices in literature and for the discussion of issues pertinent to the social space in the literary text.
