SUMMARY:

This Master’s thesis brings an analytical reflection on the contributions of the Bom Aluno Program (BAP) to the educational, human and professional development of students in situations of socioeconomic vulnerability, based mainly on the researcher's personal experiences, emphasizing its role in the democratization of foreign language learning. Through documental analysis and autoethnographic narrative, I also examine the results of this program to face educational inequality and the teaching and learning of the English language. The BAP is an educational technology developed by Civil Society Organizations of Public Interest (OSCIPs) that, for more than twenty-five years, has provided access to quality education for students from the public school system, aiming at their training and social mobility. In this sense, the program seeks to contribute to the reduction of Brazilian social inequality through educational investment for young people in vulnerable social situations.
