RESUMO:

This study, inserted in the field of Applied Linguistics (AL), has as its main objective the critical reflection on the mechanisms that exclude/erase cultures and consequently Afro-Latin identities from the space for debate and reflection in the process of training Spanish teachers at the Federal University of Bahia, a space for experiences, observations, and discussions, which presents itself as a diasporic territory and of other epistemologies that depart from paths other than those determined by the north. To reach these objectives, the research will be built from a theoretical framework, such as: Applied Linguistics and teaching/learning of a foreign/Spanish language; the presence/absence of black authors while preparing Spanish teachers and Interculturality in the teacher education process. I propose this discussion in order to demonstrate the relevance and need to put into practice an idea of culture/language beyond Spanish hegemony and the same silencing learning route, because as Almeida (2019) states, racism is not just an individual behavior, but is also present in how institutions operate, which act in a dynamics that confers disadvantages and privileges based on race. The study will be carried out from a qualitative and interpretive approach, and the following methods and instruments will be used: reading and analysis of the Literature and Literacy discipline programs from the Spanish Language Licentiate Course and its syllabus. To support the discussions, I will rely on the following theoretical references: Almeida (2019); Paraquett (2009); Machado (2006); Souza (2017); Munanga (2019); Santos (2001, 2009), among others, which were purposely selected for fleeing from northern references, which somehow dehumanize our identities. As a result, I hope that there will be (re)cognition of Afro-Latin identities as powers to help prepare teachers in the Spanish Language course within the Federal University of Bahia, and reflection on their performance in whatever teaching/learning spaces they may dwell, so that these practices may be related to the different realities they may encounter.
