RESUMO:

In this thesis, an investigation it was realized within the scope of the Lexicon, with a view to identifying dialectal areas and confirming or contesting the outline proposed by Nascentes (1953), for what he called Amazonian Dialect. For the study, unpublished data extracted from the corpus of the ALiB Project was taken as a basis, which is a nationwide project in the area of Dialectology and which uses Multidimensional Geolinguistics as a method, which is supported by a basic tripod, defined by Cardoso (2010, p. 89), as a network of points, informants and questionnaires. In this sense, to carry out the thesis, we selected a network of points composed of 30 locations, distributed in Northern Brazil, using three questions from the Semantic-Lexical Questionnaire - SLQ, which investigate the names assigned to "stars" , more specifically questions 29, 30 and 31, and there was the contribution of 144 informants, stratified according to the informants selection methodology of the project, in which gender (male and female), two age groups (age group I – 18 to 30 years old and age group II – 50 to 65 years old), incomplete elementary school level and, in capitals, two levels of schooling (incomplete elementary school and university). The denominations found, such as Morning Star (Estrela d'Alva), Venus Planet (Planeta Vênus) and Shooting Star (Estrela Cadente) were evaluated considering, in addition to spatial distribution, the social aspects that are controlled by the ALiB Project and were compared with the studies by Mota (1999), Oliveira (2014), Carvalho (2015) and Cuba (2015), with regard to the names given to the “stars”, and with the thesis of Portilho (2013), with regard to the Amazonian Dialect area (NASCENTES, 1953). The results found confirm that what was proposed by Nascentes, in the 50’s, for Northern Dialects and South Dialects, can be seen in the sample, when compared with other studies, however, the outline of Amazonian Dialect, now it mixes with the Multivariate Territory (part of the Midwest Region), sometimes it mixes with the Northeastern Dialect, attesting that, at present, this path is not confirmed.
