RESUMO:

The teaching of non-native languages makes use of the research field of second language acquisition (SLA) to test, validate or even refute teaching proposals. In this work, we will present some of the direct and indirect influences of the SLA area for language teaching, with a particular interest for the conception of language as a Complex Adaptive System (LARSEN-FREEMAN, 2013; BECKNER et al., 2008) and the role of interaction in language learning. The present work, then, has the main objective to analyze the structure and theory of Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) from the perspective of the Theory of Complex Dynamic Systems (TCDS). For this, we have the following specific objectives: (1) to analyze the task cycle from the perspective of the TCDS; (2) to verify the existence of the characteristics of a complex adaptive system in this approach; and (3) to analyze whether ELBT is an approach that takes into account the complexity and diversity of teaching contexts, with a more specific focus on individual learners' differences.
