RESUMO:

Starting from the theoretical field of phraseology and the sociology of emotions, this qualitative and interpretive research seeks to analyze and understand how migrant sex workers from Salvador and Granada conceptualized and represented the violence–body–sexuality triad, based on their cultural and ideological reference matrices, in order to clarify how these subjects used the expression of emotions materialized linguistically in the form of different phraseologisms. The phraseological units obtained are associated with certain emotions, such as: shame, pride, guilt, fear, anger and disgust, among others, pointing to aspects of the professional identity and origin of the interviewees. The theoretical framework was adopted, among other authors: for phraseological studies, Baptista (2012), Corpas (1996), Penadés (1999); the contributions of the sociology of emotions by Hochschild (1979), Kemper (1978), Scheff (1988); and in relation to the notion of stigma, Becker & Arnold (1986), Goffman (2004 [1963]) and Link & Phelan (2001). In the theoretical chapter, we present the state of the art of phraseological research in Brazil, with some forays into Spanish phraseological studies, we delimit phraseology as an area of knowledge, we enter the field of the sociology of emotions, in order to propose a different perspective for the field of phraseology, based on a constructivist theory approach to the sociology of emotions. Aware of the scarcity of research in this area of linguistics with empirical subjects that address social issues and stigmatization or issues related to identity and emotion, we interviewed six sex professionals, three in Salvador and three in Granada, whom a questionnaire was applied to identify them; audiovisual and photographic material, in the form of a semi-directed interview that provokes reactions and emotions around the triad of violence–body–sexuality; and a directed oral narrative that stimulates a reflection on the professional identity and origin of the participants. According to the data provided by the respondents, derived from the methodology, we have outlined three possible paths to follow in future studies in the field of phraseology. The first proposal embraces phraseology and ideology. In our case, the emerging phraseological units in the context of production indicate different forms of social and ideological representation of the aforementioned triad. The second glimpses the relationship between phraseology and emotion. To do this, we present a glossary of lexical structures that allow us to identify associations between phraseological units and certain emotions. The third and last one addresses aspects of phraseology and identity, through the oral narratives of the collaborating subjects, appearing phraseologisms that define emotions and reactions, linked to the perceptions that the interviewees constructed about their professional and / or origin / ethnic identities.
