SUMMARY:
Research on the subject of training foreign language teachers, sometimes initial, sometimes continued, has become one of the fertile fields of investigation in the area of Applied Linguistics or even Education. From this perspective, it is important to analyze the main documents that govern education in our country when addressing this issue and investigating what language policies say about teacher training and teaching foreign languages, specifically, Spanish. Thus, the central objective of this study is to discuss the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC), 2018, and Resolution CNE/CP, No. 2, of December 20, 2019, also seeking to identify social, economic and political agents that exercised influence on the process of elaboration and approval of these documents. To this end, discussions regarding the training of Spanish teachers are considered: Paraquett (2018, 2012), studies related to the training of intercultural teachers, decolonial pedagogy, among them: Candau (2012), Mendes (2015), Walsh (2010; 2009), studies on language policies, Calvat (2002) Oliveira (2010) and the aforementioned documents. The research methodology is of a qualitative and documentary nature, therefore establishing as procedures and instruments for data generation a survey of bibliographic and documentary data, with research in journal articles, dissertations and theses available on the web, collecting data through texts and materials that have already been published in the literature and analysis of official documents. With this, we believe that proposals with this content, in addition to strengthening the studies already developed in the area, can offer theoretical and methodological input to rethink the issue, if necessary, not only in the training of language teachers, but in language teaching in our country. country so that one day Basic Education students have the right to learn the language that fits and suits them to study and not just a language imposed by political hegemony.
