SUMMARY:

The research carried out is about the teacher training process, that took place during the PIBID of the English Language in the period in which I was the project coordinator between the years 2015 to 2017. Therefore, the objective of this work is to contribute, reflectively, to the improvement of teachers in initial and continuing education in the English language, based on the study of the experiences arising from the intervention built, carried out and based on the critical professional training of teachers (MARINS-COSTA, 2012; GIROUX, 1997). Such research also made us think about the importance of reviewing the “remembered” actions, from a decolonial (OLIVEIRA and CANDAU, 2010) and transgressive (BELL HOOKS, 2013) perspective, in conjunction with the assumptions of critical literacy (2012; STREET , 2010; MONTE MOR, 2013; KALANTZIS et al, 2020), guided by the following objectives of Applied Linguistics: identifying problems “related to language in real life” (ROJO, 2006, p. 258), investigating them with a view to delineating possible solutions and propose theoretical-methodological responses that dialogue with the process of critical and reflective training of English language teachers. Therefore, this thesis is structured based on an investigative practice that had as reference the information collected from an ethnographic research, aligned with the qualitative-interpretative approach, using a variety of procedures/instruments for data generation, such as: retrieval of memories, semi-structured interviews and analysis of class plans and official CAPES  reports, in order to critically reflect on the dynamics of the PIBID project, which constitutes the central object of this thesis.
