In this thesis, an investigation was developed within the scope of the Lexicon, based on unpublished data extracted from the corpus of the ALiB Project—the Linguistic Atlas of Brazil, which is a nationwide intent in the area of Dialectology and whose method is Multidimensional Geolinguistics, which is based on a basic tripod, defined by Cardoso (2010, p. 89), as a network of points, informants and questionnaires. To carry out this thesis, a network of points composed of 122 locations was selected, distributed in the Northeast and South of Brazil, two questions were used, from the Semantic-Lexical Questionnaire - QSL, the 192, “What is the thin metal object that holds your hair? Show hair clip (grampo) (with pressure)/ ramona/ misse”, and the 193 “DIADEMA/ ARCO/ TIARA - what is the metal or plastic object that goes from one side of the head to the other and serves to hold the hair?” (COMITÊ NACIONAL, 2001, p. 37). There were contributions from 536 informants, stratified, according to the methodology for selecting informants from the aforementioned project, which considers gender (male and female), two age groups (group I – 18 to 30 years old and group II – 50 to 65 years old), incomplete elementary schooling level and, in the capitals, two levels of schooling (incomplete elementary school and university). The denominations found, such as, for example, misse, grampo, birilo, friso, tiara, arco, diadema and travessa were evaluated considering, in addition to spatial distribution, the social aspects that are controlled by the ALiB Project and the geosociocognitive study of the data. The results found confirm that, in the Northeast and South regions, a total of 14 denominations were registered for the thin metal object that serves to hold the hair – misse, grampo (de cabelo)/ grampinha/ guarampo, presilha, birilo, friso, fivela, pegador, pregador (de cabelo), prendedor (de cabelo), cigarra, ramona, joaninha, ladona, passador – and 09, for the object that goes from one side of the head to the other and serves to hold the hair – diadema, tiara, passadeira, traca/atraca/ataque, travessa, gigolé, arco/arquinho/arco de cabelo, regaço e arregar, in the investigated locations. This number demonstrates that we have two extremely culturally diverse regions, and this is reflected, consequently, in the way people speak and in the way they name the accessories used in their hair. The results reveal socio-historical data related to the informants' lexical selection. We verified that the dictionaries, when describing the definitions, allow the polysemous understanding of the lexicons analyzed, in addition to bringing the querent closer to other meanings. Based on this, it was possible to make the radial networks of the lexis registered, in the Northeast and South regions, in which was possible to outline the terms used by the informants of the research developed by the ALiB Project, visualizing the prototypical and peripheral forms related to the names attributed to the hair accessories studied by the speakers. The study of the history of the Northeast and South of Brazil and of hair accessories was important to better understand this element in the geosociolinguistic oral corpus, whose domain proved to be diverse.
