SUMMARY:

This dissertation is a research on social management and territorial development with a focus on marketing experiences in the solidarity economy, considering the functioning of Solidarity Marketing Spaces (ESC) implemented by the Public Solidarity Economy Centers (Cesol) from Bahia. This work has a purposeful character and its objective was to create a self-instructional course on ESC management anchored in the solidarity economic foundations. So, a qualitative descriptive study was carried out, involving a bibliographical research; documentary analysis; participant observation and questionnaire application. In the field of theoretical reference, we highlight the works of França Filho and Eynaud (2020) that point out paths for reconciliation between the economic and the social; The perspective of the plural economy of Karl Polanyi (2000) and the substantive management of Alberto Guerreiro Ramos (1981). As a whole, the results suggest that the management of the ESC, aware of the contradictions associated with the ontological foundations of the market economy and the solidarity economy, in addition to the commercial process, should promote or potentially contain different economic practices other than the market mechanism and introduce mechanisms of self-organization, founded on the values of cooperation and democracy.
