RESUMO:

The volume of resources of Private Social Investment in Brazil reaches billions of Reais, according to the GIFE Census 2018. Based on theorical  references about Corporate Social Responsibility, Sustainable Development, Private Social Investment and Social Management of Territories, this research brings the analysis of how studied companies direct their investments towards the development of the region where they impact with their activities. It also presents the ways that these companies use to involve the impacted population in this process, bringing to the discussion the legitimate demands of that same territory. To support the discussion on these issues, the cases of Social Management of a global reforestation company for pulp production, located in the North Coast and Agreste Bahia, which has 31 counties and more than three hundred communities, were studied; and the case of social management of a mining company with global operations, which among other territories also operates in southeastern of the state of Pará, in the region where the largest mining complex in the country and one of the largest in the world is located. From the two experiences in totally different scenarios and businesses, it was possible to bring inputs to elaborate a “Social Management Technology” that is based on a diagnostic instrument with information about the social actors involved in the territory. Such informations will be made available in a plataform ,  that intends to provide the meeting of interests between the management of private social investment and the needs of local populations, minimizing impacts and collaborating in the development and transformation of the territory.
