SUMMARY:

The purpose of this dissertation is to study and investigate the types of violence that occur in and around educational establishments, as well as to propose social management technology for conflict mediation and the promotion of peace in school environments. Being the mother of a school-aged teenager, it forces me to invest in this topic and cooperate in proposing preventive actions against violence at school. To understand the occurrences of episodes of violence, I sought an anchor in the theoretical framework of scholars on the subject such as Bernard Charlot, Miriam Abramovay and Éric Debarbieux, among other authors who helped in the framework of this construction. The general objective is to develop a social management technology for conflict mediation in the school environment and the prevention of violence in public educational institutions. The Ribeira Military Police College, located on the Itapagipe Peninsula, was the research field, where a considered part of the proposed methodology was developed, with the application of a questionnaire to management, teachers and staff, a pedagogical workshop using virtual roulette for students, culminating in the construction of a cognitive map. The time gap caused by the spread of COVID-19 in the years 2020 and 2021, the peak period of this master's degree, brought some losses to this work, being overcome with adaptations to the original project, including restrictions on the social residence made in Maceió, in Batalhão of School Police of the Military Police of Alagoas in January 2022. Despite the limitations imposed by health restrictions, it was an experience of reciprocal sharing of knowledge with the exchange of experience between school policing activities to prevent violence in the environment of schools developed at the Military Police of Bahia and the Military Police of Alagoas. Finally, I highlight the maturation as a researcher during this professional master's degree, understanding that a topic of such relevance lacks collective and social contributions, involving the protection network for children and adolescents, public equipment and social movements for the consolidation and construction of a technology social framework for preventing violence and promoting peace in school environments, through conflict mediation
