RESUMO:

Basic education in Brazil continues to be ineffective in combating racism, despite Law 10.639/03, which now completes eighteen years of existence. The implementation of this Law is still timid, making the school continue to reproduce the current racism in society without offering a counterpoint. The object of this thesis is the possible contribution of the performing arts to an anti-racist education at school, with the black body at the center of this study. In this discussion, we return to some of the main epistemic perspectives elaborated by black and black thinkers, such as Panafricanism, Amefricanity, Afrocentricity, Quilombism and Afroperspectivity, and we also present some important Afro-referenced epistemologies for education, such as Pretagogy , the Encruzilhada Pedagogy, and then we discuss the possibility and pertinence of the Cooperation Pedagogy, which are presented in the respective chapters, I. EIGHTEEN YEARS OF LAW 10639/03 and II. AFRODIASPORIC CROSSROAD/COOPERATION PEDAGOGY. Below, in the unfolding of this study, we present the pedagogical proposal: DANÇA DA ABAYOMI: WEAVING ANCESTRALIDADE, elaborated on the experience of more than ten years of experience in public schools in the municipalities of Natal-RN and Salvador-BA, with purposes aimed at thinking about belonging, ancestry, cooperation, ways of existing and resisting the black body in the context of basic education. The problematization that mobilized this thesis came from her own life journey as a black woman from the outskirts of Salvador, and later as a dance artist and art educator.
