ABSTRACT
This research aims to analyze how a political-cultural project of female empowerment can foster equity in artistic making between men and women in the traveling circus. For this purpose, this exploratory research carried out a case study of the cultural project Empowerment of Circus Women, also used bibliographic and documentary research methodologies. As this is a field study, data collection was carried out through interviews, forms and systematic observation, handling these and information through a qualitative approach. The purpose is to understand how a political-cultural project can contribute to broaden the horizon of artistic performance of women in the traveling circus, considering that historically and even today, women cannot occupy some functions and roles inherent in circus art.
