This research project makes a historical, anthropological and social survey of the colonization of Brazil and the arrival of gypsies and artists to the new land, as well as the stigmatization and stereotyping of these that are reflected in contemporary times, causing the Brazilian Traditional Circus to be marginalized, forcing them to live as an independent ethnic group within the Brazilian territory, with usurped rights and distorted realities as if it were not an enterprise that fulfills its social function and the artists were not Brazilian citizens.
