  • Transgender men who preserve their reproductive organs retain the ability to conceive and give birth.
Despite the challenges, more and more of them see pregnancy as a way to become parents. Thinking
about the specific needs related to fertility, conception, pregnancy, delivery and postpartum in this group
of people and the economy of literature, this study aims to know the experiences of transsexual men with
the puerperal pregnancy cycle. For this, we seek to carry out a qualitative and exploratory research, in
which it will be developed with Brazilian transsexual men who have had at least one experience of
pregnancy, after identifying themselves as male transsexuals. The identification of potential interviewees
will be carried out through contact with the collective of “De Transs Pra Frente”, a collective formed by
trans activists in Salvador and exploration on websites and social media such as Facebook, Instagram and
Youtube. Data collection will take place through online interviews using videoconferencing software
(Google Meet) and the first transsexual men contacted will indicate other transsexual men who have gone
through the gestation process (Snowball Technique). The data obtained will be submitted to the content
analysis proposed by Bardin. It is expected that the results of this study will provide elements for the
construction of two scientific articles and an Guidance Booklet on Perinatal Health for Transgender Men
aimed at health professionals, with a view to providing better guidance in the perinatal health care of this
    public.

  • The history of mother and baby bonding can be observed already in the prenatal period, making it possible to identify factors that interfere in this process and that allow evaluating the expectations that the mother has about the fetus and the interaction she establishes with it. The present study aimed to investigate the relationships between initial maladaptive schemas (EID), quality of the bond with their primary caregivers and maternal-fetal attachment in high-risk pregnant women. To this end, research with a quantitative, descriptive and relational design was carried out, using a non-probabilistic convenience sample, with 152 pregnant women assisted by the High Risk Prenatal Care of a maternal and child hospital. The instruments used include the sociodemographic questionnaire, the Young Schema Questionnaire in brief form (YSQ – S3), the Maternal-Fetal Bonding Scale (MFAS-Br) and the Parental Bonding Instrument (PBI). The collected data were analyzed using the JASP version 18.1 program and descriptive statistical analysis was performed using frequency, mean (M) and standard deviation (SD) measurements. Next, regression analysis using structural equation modeling (SEM) was used to verify the explanatory power of EIDs (independent variables) on AMF intensity (dependent variable). The results of the quantitative analysis did not indicate statistically significant changes in this relationship. However, the Distrust/Abuse scheme presented a borderline p-value, indicating a possible positive predictive capacity. Few study participants (15.8%) showed activation of abandonment and distrust/abuse schemes and the analysis of sociodemographic data revealed that 61.8% of participants considered they received a lot of support from the social network and a lot of support from the baby's father (81 .6%). Such results highlight possible mediators and other factors that may affect AMF formation and the relationship with EIDs. Partner support, understood as social support, can explain the hypoactivation of the two main schemes presented, configuring itself as a protective factor for AMF, highlighting the need for increasing inclusion of the partner throughout prenatal care and in future research. The results also made it possible to highlight the limitations of the study, indicating the need for more research on this topic with a larger number of participants. This project was awarded a scientific initiation notice and had three undergraduate students, scholarship holders, during the execution period, allowing greater integration between undergraduate and postgraduate studies. With the data analyzed, it was possible to develop the following products: (1) integrative review article about maternal-fetal attachment in high-risk pregnant women; (2) article reporting empirical research; (3) psychoeducational video about the relationships between maternal-fetal attachment and early maladaptive schemas, aimed at high-risk pregnant women and their families.

  • The multidimensional impact of dyslexia can affect not only reading performance, but
also emotional development, the family environment and the child's perceptions of
themselves. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of a cognitive-
behavioral parenting intervention on the family environment and well-being of children
with dyslexia. This dissertation is part of the completion of the Professional Master's
Degree in Health Psychology in the line of research Human Development and
Educational Practices in Health and is composed of three independent articles. Article
1: Systematic literature review to investigate the evidence already produced in Brazil on
the effect of intervention programs for behavioral management carried out through
guidance from parents or teachers. The results showed that the intervention programs
analyzed were effective in managing children's behavior problems at home and at
school, however, in the national literature there is a lack of research in this area that

presents a comparison design between intervention and control groups, which would
increase the reliability of the results of the guidance programs developed. Article 2: The
objective of the second article was to investigate the relationship between family
climate and the perception of well-being of children with persistent difficulties in
learning to read. 36 children from the 2nd to 6th year of elementary school participated
in the research. Correlation and multiple linear regression analyzes were performed to
analyze the results. There was a negative, significant correlation with a moderate effect
size between the perception of a negative family climate and performance in reading
    pseudowords (r = - 0.36; p < 0.05); and positive, significant and moderate-strong
correlation between the Positive Family Climate and the perception of the Compared
    Self (r = 0.40; p < 0.05). Family climate was a significant predictor of children's
    perception of the Compared Self (R = 0.40; p < 0.01).Article 3: In this article the
objective was to investigate the effects of a parental guidance program for reduction of
behavioral problems and quality of life, adapted for fathers and mothers of children with
dyslexia. The program lasted eight sessions and was based on the cognitive-behavioral
parent training intervention model. Four mothers, four fathers and their respective
children participated in the program, all diagnosed with dyslexia. Participants
completed instruments to assess family climate, intelligence, reading performance,
quality of life and child behavior problems, before and after the intervention. The results
were analyzed using the Jacobson and Truax Method (JT) and the calculated Reliable
Change Index indicated that the changes found post-test can be attributed to the
proposed intervention program, demonstrating its clinical applicability. In addition to
the articles, the products of this dissertation were: a) The parental intervention program
for parents/guardians of children with dyslexia; b) A short course based on the model of
the proposed intervention program, selected in the Call for Support for Postgraduate
Extension 2023; c) Two playful resources developed, using programming and
educational robotics with the aim of assisting in clinical and pedagogical interventions
to stimulate reading skills in children with or without learning difficulties.

  • The post-covid-19 condition, illness in people who have recovered from COVID-19 but still report lasting effects of the infection persisting for weeks or months after COVID-19 infection may develop persistent and long-term psychological symptoms. Many infected healthcare workers report cognitive impairment, insomnia, depression, anxiety, shortness of breath, burnout, and PTSD have been associated with physical and mental health implications. Moreover, in the pandemic scenario, physical and psychological pressure have been associated with signs of occupational stress, among other causes of mental suffering. In this sense, psychological interventions for health care workers play a crucial role in dealing with the mental health implications of the new coronavirus pandemic. However, studies proposing instruments for monitoring the repercussions of the pandemic and the post-covid-19 condition on health professionals are still incipient.  The studies located are restricted to the organization of care responses according to the severity of the disease, the provision of care to users. Thus, this study aimed to identify and analyze the evidence from the scientific literature and design an intervention for screening and psychosocial monitoring for implications of the pandemic and post-covid-19 condition in health professionals working in hospitals. To this end, a qualitative and descriptive research was developed, which included two stages of integrative synthesis review, a methodological study, and a technical product. The results were presented and discussed according to the articles and derived product: The first article is a rapid synthesis of scientific evidence entitled "Determinants for repercussions in the mental health of hospital health professionals in the Covid-19 pandemic" and sought to identify the conditioning and determining factors of psychological distress of health professionals who work in the front line in the hospital environment, before the reorganization of the work process in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. The second article entitled "Synthesis of psychological and psychosocial interventions for hospital health professionals in the post-covid-19 context and with post-covid-19 condition" aimed to identify and systematize psychological and psychosocial interventions directed to hospital health professionals in the post-covid-19 context and those with post-covid-19 condition. The third article "proposition of psychological and psychosocial intervention for hospital health professionals with Post-covid-19 condition" synthesizes, from the interventions identified in the scientific literature, the priority aspects for the psychological follow-up of health professionals with Post-covid-19 condition who work in the hospital context. And finally, in a complementary way, the scientific articles provide theoretical subsidies to establish and refine the technical product derived from the research that constitutes a "Check-list for screening and psychosocial monitoring of hospital health professionals with the Post-covid-19 Condition". This dissertation enabled the systematization of strategies for psychosocial monitoring of hospital health professionals and the construction of a specific instrument. The methodology, by contemplating several stages, allowed a better understanding of the interventions that have been developed, contributing to the adequacy of care for health professionals in the hospital context. Moreover, it corroborates the scientific discussions around the post-Covid-19 psychological follow-up, a theme still scarce in the literature and practice of health systems today.

  • Incarcerated people go through different processes of oppression, which culminate in the marginalization and invisibility of their demands, especially those related to mental health. By adding the gender focus to this discussion, a greater vulnerability is perceived among women deprived of liberty, who suffer from the weakening of their affective bonds due to imprisonment, and often have their demands unattended. Considering this scenario, the present study was developed with the general objective of understanding the effects of the weakening of affective bonds on the mental health of women in situations of deprivation of liberty. These were the specific objectives: investigate how the experience of incarceration is constructed in the narratives of incarcerated women; examine what role the affective bonds built with their children and/or partners play in the subjective experience of these women; to analyze, in discursive formations, how these components are engendered in the mental health of incarcerated women. For the construction of this dissertation, a bibliographic review of academic productions on the subject was carried out and subsequent analysis, which resulted in an academic article; then, another academic article was produced, outlining the historical course of prisons, their social function and the political and economic articulations of their use as a mechanism for maintaining power. Finally, the data analysis section explains the results and the methodology of the research. Six women deprived of liberty participated in this study, whose discursive material was collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed in the light of Pecheuxtian Discourse Analysis. The analysis categories led to some conclusions: the weakening of affective bonds represents a source of anguish and psychic suffering; health changes appears mainly in the form of symptoms and chronic complaints; the recurrent use of medication was the most used alternative to deal with psychic suffering; the experience in prison is permeated by constant distrust and fear, which coexist with the formation of a support network between the incarcerated women. Seeking an intervention aimed at reducing mental health suffering in the spaces of the prison system, an intervention product was built, in the form of an orientation booklet for the health services of the penitentiary system. In this booklet, there are informations brought by the women about the aspects of living in prison, and the survival strategies developed by them in this context.

  • The central objective of this dissertation was to identify the relationships among indicators of mental health (negative affectivity), burnout syndrome, job satisfaction and personnel management policy, in order to propose an explanatory model of burnout syndrome for employees of a Public Federal Higher Education Institution. Participated in the study 180 federal public employees (professors and administrative technicians). Multidimensional instruments were used: Job Satisfaction Scale - EST, Maslach Burnout Inventory -MBI, Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale - DASS 21, Scale of People Management Practices - Public EPGP, as well as sociolaboral variables. This work allowed the development of two articles and a technical report. The first of them sought to understand the mental health phenomenon in the work context of Higher Education Institutions, based on a systematic literature review, which analyzed the national publications in the period between 2011 and 2021. In the empirical article, were analyzed the dimensions of burnout syndrome that presented significant associations, negative and positive, and with different magnitudes, with the other variables of the study, which allowed the elaboration of a predictive model. Between them, emotional exhaustion stands out, showing a significant positive correlation with negative affectivity, having the highest shared variance in the study. Regression analysis showed that the predictive model for emotional exhaustion had greater explanatory power, selecting satisfaction with the nature of work, satisfaction with colleagues, and negative affectivity as the main correlated variables of the prediction. The technical report sought to present the descriptive analyzes of each professional category (technicians and teachers) and the separation of groups in order to highlight the specific working conditions of each category, as well as the mental health indicators, job satisfation and the policy of people management. This project was contemplated with a scientific initiation edict and had three graduate students, job satisfation, during the execution period, allowing a greater integration between the graduation and the post graduation. Finally, it is emphasized that the study brings an important contribution in order to show the indicators of mental health, job satisfaction, and perception of the people management policy, so that managers can develop interventions directed at improving the quality of life of public employees in Federal Public Institutions

  • The homogenization of the body aesthetic standard fosters discrepancies between the actual body shape and the desired one, which predominantly affects women. This is reflected in body image problems and provides the follow-up of models that result in suffering, thus configuring a relevant issue from a clinical point of view. However, few studies focusing on interventions have been carried out, especially in the Brazilian reality. Therefore, this study proposes to implement a short-term behavioral-analytic intervention, in the online modality, to address body image problems among women. This is an action research qualitative methodological investigation study. The proposed intervention will be carried out through individual online consultations, recorded for monitoring and then evaluated through interviews with the aim of investigating its effects. Data will be analyzed through thematic content analysis and discussed through the theoretical framework of Behavior Analysis.

  • The pandemic context caused some changes in family dynamics. With the suspension of classroom classes and the introduction of teaching in remote format, the supervision of parents and/or caregivers in their children's school activities became more necessary. In view of this scenario, this research aims to know the experiences of parents/caregivers in the school monitoring of children during the pandemic by COVID 19. Parents/caregivers of enrolled children in the initial grades of elementary school (1st to 5th grade) who are on the waiting list for Child Psychotherapy of a Psychology Service of a Higher Education Institution in a countryside city of Bahia will be participating in the survey. The research has an exploratory-descriptive qualitative methodology, with an action research approach, based on the cultural-historical method.
The action research will be carried out through group interventions guided by collaborative dialogical practices that will make it possible to identify demands about the exercise of the parental relationship that are related to school monitoring during a pandemic - COVID 19 and to analyze the meanings and senses arising from the experiences of parents/caregivers in school monitoring.
The analysis procedure will be from the cores of meanings. The present study proposes, as a final product, a Parental Orientation Program – POP as an internship proposal for a Higher Education Institution – HEI.

  • Readers will find here a Psychology of Health put to the test. Or rather, open to the exercise of decentralization of human well-being. It is a more democratic Health Psychology in terms of understanding what matters, interactions, affections and the construction of a “common”, which has nothing to do with the struggle for equality among men (human rights) in a situation given. Based on the analysis of basic sanitation policies in rural areas, more precisely in the southwest of Bahia, the aim is to launch Health Psychology into the worldwide movement of the “ontological turn”, which is configured as a critique of the method used in modern science of the separation between nature x culture, subject x object, and in the case of human sciences, the centrality of analyzes in human protagonism. It starts from the question: What can Health Psychology under the “ontological turn” contribute to research on basic sanitation in rural areas? And it concludes that another Psychology of Health is possible: open to the decentralization of the human, or if you prefer, to a (re)composition of its object. This dissertation is part of research line 1: Clinical Practices and Mental Health and has as a technical product an technical video for managers of basic sanitation programs. • The Covid-19 pandemic triggered the experience of concrete and symbolic mourning. From the perspective of the Person-Centered Approach, grief can be understood as the experience of thoughts, feelings and physical sensations related to changes in the phenomenological field of a person, whose loss can generate tensions in the organism-environment relationship and threaten the self. The person-centered psychologist unconditionally considers and understands the bereaved person's loss from the client's internal frame of reference, facilitating the conscious symbolization of this experience. The aim of this study is to develop a person-centered intervention in the face of grief experienced by individuals who have lost loved ones due to Covid-19. This study converges with the objectives of the Clinical Practices and Mental Health line, as it develops a mental health practice aligned with the expanded clinic. This is a qualitative research that uses the methods of Action Research and Case Study. Two grieving clients were assisted, in which they participated from seven to ten sessions. To obtain empirical material, two semi-structured interviews and online individual psychological care sessions were carried out. The field script was used as a tool for monitoring and improving actions. The analysis of empirical material is guided by Content Analysis. Research results are presented in four studies. The first article proposes the development of an instrument (research product) that can be used as a care management tool or as a field guide to conduct the monitoring phase of a person-centered intervention in an action-research context. The second article comprises the grieving experiences from the perspective of the Person-Centered Approach, before the beginning of the therapeutic process. The third article focuses on the description and analysis of the interventions carried out in the participants' psychological care. The fourth article deepens one of the cases treated and presents an analysis on the symbolization of mourning in the therapeutic context. The results showed that person-centered interventions facilitated the process of working through the clients' grief, favoring contact with emotions, reorganizing the self and reducing the state of tension. It is considered that the development of the research brought direct benefits to the study participants and enabled the improvement of the professional practice of the psychologist-researcher. It is hoped that this research will contribute to support person-centered interventions in the face of grief and encourage new studies on the subject, especially in the area of Health Psychology.

  • Considering the high incidence of the phenomenon of procrastination in academic settings, commonly known as Academic Procrastination, this dissertation is linked to the objective. of the Postgraduate Program in Health Psychology at the Federal University of Bahia, to identify new demands and health needs in individual and collective contexts. This study hypothesizes that it is possible to understand and comprehend the phenomenon of academic procrastination from a humanistic perspective, based on the contributions of Carl Rogers, as well as an empirical phenomenological approach, using Amedeo Giorgi's procedures. To achieve this, the specific objectives were to: ground the experience of academic procrastination according to the humanistic Rogerian perspective; and understand the phenomenon of academic procrastination from an empirical phenomenological, applied with four higher education students in Vitória da Conquista, Bahia. Drawing on the theoretical foundation of humanistic Rogerian psychology, a comprehension of procrastination was constructed through the lens of personality organization, disorganization, and reorganization fostering an understanding of academic procrastination as a defense mechanism that signals incongruities. In the pursuit of an empirical phenomenological understanding of the experience of academic procrastination, four categories were identified, which indicate comprehension of the visited experiences: procrastination in the educational environment; manifestations of distress and anxiety in procrastination; difficulties and strategies for dealing with procrastination; contextual elements influencing procrastination. This axis describes: the ways in which procrastination emerges in the participants' universes, report sensations and behaviors that signal manifestations of this distress, mention coping behaviors, and explore connections with contextual elements that are associated with academic procrastination. The entire work presents data that can serve as a basis for further empirical or theoretical research, as well as providing a foundation for the development of applied services for the care of the university population experiencing academic procrastination.

  • The readers will find in this work a renovated Health Psychology, far from a humanism that is centralized in humans. This work is developed as a support to Palliative Care (PC) in Research Line 1: Clinical Practices and Mental Health of the Health Psychology Post Graduation Program of the Multidisciplinary Health Institute of Federal University of Bahia (PPGPSIMS/UFBA), oriented by professor Paulo Rogers S. Ferreira, PHD. This work has as a final product an workshop named Experience-pedagogical workshop for medical training: how to connect with the world in Palliative Care. Is is centralized in the ontological turn perspective, which contests the modern science division into nature X culture and subject X object and comprehend the actions in the world as mediations among all the actors, human and non-human. This work is divided into three chapters. The first one is a theoretical article named The transformation of the technical apparatus in Palliative Care (PC), which introduces the transformation of the inanimate technical apparatus (ICU and ICC equipments, sofas, bedrooms, etc) in animated support equipments, in Palliative Care. The analisys was oriented by Gilbert Simondon. The second chapter is a result of an empirical study, an article named Health Psychology under ontological turn: support to medical training in Palliative Care. It comprehends the medical training in Palliative Care in Medicine Graduation of the Multidisciplinary Health Institute of Federal University of Bahia (IMS/UFBA) specially how is the focus to the technical apparatus. The results concluded that the professors and students constantly work with the technical apparatus but do not recognize its participation (anima) as mediators of the Palliative Care process. In the last chapter it is proposed a product, which is a requirement os the Professional Masters Degree and is named Experience-pedagogical workshop for medical training: how to connect with the world in Palliative Care and allows the sensibility about the participation of the technical apparatus in the PC. This research was approved by the Ethical Commitee in Research with Humans of the Multidisciplinary Health Institute of Federal University of Bahia (CEP-IMS/UFBA) by authorization nº 5.935.129.

  • The COVID-19 pandemic had a worldwide impact on the health area, especially during the period of social isolation, unexpectedly causing the urgent adaptation of the most diverse health services for distance care. Given this scenario, this study aimed to analyze the potential and restrictive aspects underlying the use of telemonitoring at the Center for Psychosocial Care for Children and Adolescents, located in Vitória da Conquista-Bahia. To this end, two articles were developed, the first of which was focused on bibliographical research using an exploratory-descriptive method to describe the trajectory of the use of Communication and Information Technologies in Brazil and list the different forms of distance monitoring aimed at children and adolescents during the pandemic period in national and international mental health services. The second article presents, through a case study of a qualitative nature, the experience of telemonitoring carried out by professionals from the multidisciplinary team during the year 2020, with users and their caregivers. Online forms were applied to the professionals and focus groups were held with service users, one group with adolescents and the other with family members. The results allowed us to conclude that, although there are limitations to accessing technological resources and the need for better structuring of the telemonitoring proposal, benefits were found in monitoring users and their families over the telephone, namely: reduction of waiting lines for care, strengthening the bond between users and the reference technician, agility in resolving behavioral situations such as crisis management, guidance on drug treatment and building the autonomy of patients and their caregivers in relation to treatment. This dissertation enabled the construction of a good practice guide for the implementation of telemonitoring in mental health services. Finally, it is outlined that telemonitoring is a powerful resource that, added to face-to-face care, tends to be a promising care strategy in mental health services.

  • This study is the result of a project for the Professional Master's Degree in Health
Psychology. It is linked to the Human Development and Educational Practices in Health
research line at the Multidisciplinary Health Institute of the Federal University of Bahia.
Neuropsychological studies contribute significantly to clinical work and specialized
mental health care. ADHD is a neurobiological disorder characterized by changes in
dopamine levels that are responsible for attention, and motor behavior, leading to
difficulty in regulating attention responses to environmental stimuli. ADHD manifests
itself through alterations in the neural circuitry of the prefrontal cortex. From the
neuropsychological point of view, ADHD is evidenced by alternating neuronal circuits
associated with the symptoms described above. Impairment is observed in the prefrontal
cortex and, consequently, in the Executive Functions (EFs) - cognitive skills responsible
for planning and performing tasks. Impairments in the EFs primarily involve sustained
attention, working memory, planning, organization, and social behavior. In Brazil, the
number of studies focused on attentional program interventions for children with
ADHD is low, which contributes to the increased use of medication without consistent
neurofunctional gains. The lack of studies on cognitive stimulation in children with
ADHD contributes to increased medication use without consistent neurofunctional
gains. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical effectiveness of the Pay
Attention! Program in reducing attention deficits in children with Attention Deficit
Hyperactivity Disorder in the city of Vitória da Conquista - BA. The study design was
quasi-experimental with the comparison of groups between pre and post-test. A
comparison was made between two groups: children diagnosed with ADHD and
submitted to the attentional intervention program Pay Attention! and children diagnosed
with ADHD who did not receive the intervention. Twenty-four children aged 6 to 10
years (M=8.37) participated in the study, 13 children in the experimental group (EG)
and 11 children in the control group (CG). After the Normality Test (Shapiro-Wilk
Test), the non-parametric Wilcoxon test was used and the effect size r, was measured by
Cohen's d. In the data analysis, outliers were identified in the EG and, for analysis
purposes, the respective children were removed from the database. The results
suggested significant changes in auditory attention measures for the group submitted to
the intervention, improvement in clinical symptoms, and reading performance.
Considering the results presented, the study demonstrates that the attention intervention
program Pay Attention! has clinically significant effects on children with ADHD. In
addition to the results regarding the effect of the program investigated, the dissertation
consists of two Technical and Technological Products – TTP’s intending to disseminate
ways of stimulating attention for children with ADHD. The TTPs developed are a 40-
page Technical Manual on Cognitive Stimulation for professionals and those
responsible for children with ADHD, published electronically, and the other was a
training course for undergraduate and postgraduate students and professionals in the
fields of education and health on cognitive stimulation for children with ADHD.

This dissertation is in line with the Clinical Practices and Mental Health research line of the Professional Master's Degree in Health Psychology at the Federal University of Bahia. The study aimed to identify scientific and technical evidence to propose strategies for identifying and monitoring the mental health of workers with the Post-Covid-19 Condition who work in Primary Health Care (PHC). This is a study with a qualitative methodological approach, with a descriptive and exploratory design. The research was carried out in two stages: 1) development of a synthesis of scientific and technical evidence on the Post-Covid-19 Condition. 2) proposal of a newsletter, webinar and proposal for the identification and mental health monitoring of users and workers with the Post-Covid-19 Condition within the scope of Primary Health Care. The results were presented in articles and derived technical products. The first article "Synthesis of scientific evidence on strategies for monitoring the Post-Covid-19 Condition in primary care" synthesized strategies for monitoring in Primary Health Care (PHC). The second article entitled "Synthesis of recommendations for organizing care for users with post-covid-19 condition in Primary Health Care" compiled technical proposals on the management of people with this clinical condition in PHC. The third article, entitled "Recommendations for the clinical management of psychological symptoms of the Post-Covid-19 Condition in primary care", aimed to identify and systematize flows for monitoring the health, including mental health, of users and health professionals. These productions resulted in a "Newsletter for the Primary Health Care Research Network of the Brazilian Association of Collective Health (Abrasco)", which aimed to inform "the place of PHC in offering care to users and health professionals with post-Covid-19 sequelae". Another technical product consisted of a web lecture promoted by Telessaúde Bahia, as an activity of permanent distance education in health, Round Table - Health of health professionals and the post-covid-19 condition: debate and necessary reflections, which presented the results of the evidence on strategies or recommendations for organizing care for users and health workers with the Post-Covid-19 Condition within the scope of PHC, raising the debate about the flow of care for Primary Health Care managers and workers. And finally, the theoretical subsidies allowed us to refine the Technical Technological Product entitled: "Guide to instructions for identifying, monitoring and referring users and health professionals with the Post-Covid-19 Condition in Primary Health Care", with the aim of instrumentalizing the management of cases and the implementation of operational flows by multiprofessional teams, for users or health professionals with persistent symptoms, considering the multisystemic changes caused by the disease. This dissertation enabled the systematization of evidence, the design of flows aimed at the identification, screening and referral of cases within the scope of Primary Health Care (PHC), as well as the transfer of results to the services and management of the SUS.The methodology, which included several stages, allowed for a greater understanding of the guidelines and consensus, contributing to the adequacy of care for users and health professionals in the context of PHC, a topic that is still scarce in the literature and in the practice of health systems, especially local ones, today.

  • There are different care policies for people who use Psychoactive Substances (PAS). In Brazil, the asylum models, which start from the perspective of abstinence, currently coexist with the public health model, which has Harm Reduction as its main guideline. The latter, inserted in the Unified Health System, uses the Psychosocial Care Centers (CAPS) as its main monitoring service for people who use drugs. On the other hand, from the perspective of abstinence, there are the Therapeutic Communities (CTs) which, with advances in recent years, have become the dominant space for asylum treatment. Considering this context, the principal objective of this study was to analyze the effects of the experience of stay in long-term institutions for people who use drugs. As a specific objective, the implications of the hospitalization process with regard to social ties were investigated. To achieve the proposed objectives, semi-structured interviews were carried out with six people who experienced some period of hospitalization in at least one Therapeutic Community or similar institution. As an analysis method, we chose discourse analysis (AD) based on the contributions of Michel Foucault. This research, developed within the scope of a professional master's degree in Health Psychology, dialogues directly with the line of research Clinical Practices and Mental Health, and is justified by the potential to put into discussion and implement practices in the field of health psychology and in dialogue with the national reality. In the first article presented, aiming to support empirical research, an integrative literature review was carried out, with CTs as the main focus of analysis. The search was carried out in the Lilacs and Medline databases, and a total of 28 articles were selected for detailed analysis. We recognize contradictory statements regarding the origin, concept, definition and functioning of CTs, as well as inaccuracies regarding the standardization of the care offered. The results exposed serious weaknesses in guaranteeing the health security of these institutions. A practical difficulty was observed in standardizing and regulating CTs. In the second article presented, the aim was to carry out a theoretical-critical analysis of the discourses that circulate regarding people who use drugs and their relationship with neoliberal rationality. As an epistemological and theoretical foundation, we rely on the analyzes proposed by Michel Foucault regarding medical, legal and moral discourses. It was understood that the neoliberal context has intensified inequalities and social exclusion, also affecting the way in which policies for people who use drugs are developed. In the third chapter we present the results of the research carried out. From the analysis of the interviews, we discuss the discursive manifestations and the way in which they intertwine and influence each other with regard to policies for people who use drugs. The prohibitionist practices of therapeutic communities are regulated by standardizing conduct, updating what is considered normal, desirable, moral and legal, and reinforcing what is seen as abnormal, undesirable, immoral and illegal. The reproduction of prohibitionist discourses is fueled by the existence of segregation spaces and, in the case of CTs, the introduction of the Christian-moral foundation as a basis for treatment was noticed, legitimizing much of their conduct. Finally, the effects were the reinforcement of social practices of exclusion, silencing and stigmatization on subjects and groups that do not meet certain performance standards. From listening to people who went through the hospitalization experience, a technical-literary work was produced as a final product. Structured in the form of short texts, with a poetic-psychoanalytic tone, the work was made in search of creating that which cannot be represented directly.

  • The present work, inserted in research line 1 - Clinical Practices and Mental Health, investigated the effect of social distancing during the Covid-19 pandemic on adolescents, resulting in recommendations for strategies to promote mental health in the school environment, from the perspective of expanded clinical practices. Adolescence is a period of intense biopsychosocial transformations, influenced by sociocultural aspects that impact the construction of subjectivities. The impacts of social distancing on the mental health of adolescents have been described, including an increase in the prevalence of mental disorders, learning disabilities, increased inequalities, and school dropout. This research aimed to analyze the challenges faced by adolescents in returning to in-person schooling after the easing of pandemic-related restrictions, as well as the current consequences and the strategies developed by both the adolescents and the school institution to address the difficulties encountered. An exploratory and descriptive study was conducted with a qualitative approach, using the methodology of focus groups, suitable for encouraging dialogue and the expression of feelings and opinions, leading to the search for solutions and proposals for common problems. The study took place in a state high school in Irecê, BA, Brazil, with the participation of a group of 10 adolescents, aged between 15 and 18 years. The content analysis, of a thematic-categorical type, resulted in four categories: 1. Pandemic challenges: encountering the unexpected; 2. Implications for the teaching-learning process; 3. Implications for adolescent mental health; 4. School Mental Health. It was observed that the pandemic significantly impacted the participants' perception of the process of adolescence, their mental health conditions, teaching-learning processes, and socialization, with repercussions still ongoing, requiring mental health interventions and specific learning support. Participants reported that the return to the school environment was unplanned and there is no mental health support, contrasting with the reality of students who returned anxious, confused, with difficulties in socialization and concentration, and with learning gaps. Therefore, we considered the importance of preparing the school community to deal with emotional demands in the post-pandemic period. Also, we highlight the relevance of implementing universalized and institutionalized school mental health policies, as well as the presence of a school psychologist to promote mental health in this context. A Conclusive Technical Report was prepared as the final product of the research, and provided to the participating institution for feedback and recommendations for promoting mental health in the school context.

  • Burnout syndrome is known as a phenomenon of the modern era, resulting from the interaction
chronic stress in the workplace and personal characteristics. Recognized in
various professions, it becomes quite common in professionals and students in the field of
health. Global exhaustion, depersonalization and decline in professional satisfaction mark the
symptomatological triad of the Syndrome. Objective: Analyze an emotional regulation program
for undergraduate medical students, using dance as a resource
therapeutic, with a focus on preventing and coping with Burnout Syndrome.
Methodology: Quasi-experimental study, carried out on a sample of 176 students, from
medical courses in the southwest region, who were invited to answer an online questionnaire
composed of scales for the dimensions of burnout and emotional regulation, in a pre-test. You
Participants with higher scores on the burnout scales and lower scores on the regulation scale
emotional were invited to participate in the intervention, based on dance techniques and
subsequently responded to a post-test, consisting of the scales (burnout and regulation
emotional) and subjective questions about the intervention. Results: a rate of
10.8% of burnout among students, and a positive relationship between the use of strategies
maladaptive disorders and burnout syndrome. The intervention process took place with a group
small number of students, who evaluated the process as significantly positive, considering
the importance of implementing support and care measures to face the
academic stress. Based on the results obtained, it was possible to create a report for
participating universities, with a suggestion to create a set of care actions
in mental health in Medicine courses, with the assumption of emotional regulation of
    students.

  • Therapeutic Workshops (OTs) are one of the main care technologies developed within the scope of the reform, designed as a means of promoting innovations in the ways of caring and producing processes of subjectivation. At the present time, CAPS and workshops have been suffering precarious processes in their assistance. There is a shortage of scientific productions that discuss OTs and the different ways of conducting activities, especially in the interior of Brazil. Considering this scenario, the present study has the general objective of discussing the use of artistic resources as a care strategy in a therapeutic workshop in a mental health service of the CAPS II type, located in the city of Jequié-Bahia, having been developed on Professional Master's Degree in Health Psychology (IMS/UFBA), in the Clinical Practices and Mental Health research line. The specific objectives were: 1. Bibliographically review the productions about therapeutic workshops with artistic resources in CAPS; 2. Collectively build a therapeutic workshop with artistic resources with service users; 3. Investigate the process of implementing a TO that makes use of artistic resources; 4. Analyze what users say about the experience with art at OT; 5. Develop, together with users, a final product about artistic resources based on an action research process. In its introduction, we briefly present the nuances of work production and investigation with OTs through action research, followed by justifications and presentation of the problems that give meaning to the study. Then, in the second chapter, the basic theoretical concepts of the investigation are explained, as well as the state of the art of current production on OTs with artistic resources, in a critical reflection on the modes of conduct found in the literature review of an integrative nature. In the Methodology Chapter, the methodological path and the questions that motivated its choices are described and summarized. We opted for the investigative resource of action research in the present study, which can be summarized in 4 stages that organize its investigative cycle: Reflection, Diagnosis, Action and Evaluation. To complete these steps, the study used participant observation to familiarize itself with the environment and study participants, while also producing a bibliographical review to guide the approach to this issue. The reflection stage led to the decision to develop an action plan with TOs together with users in a conversation circle, in a collective production. The recognition of the need for OTs to return to CAPS, combined with the problems reported by users regarding the assistance provided, with the absence of therapeutic activities, led to the construction of an action plan combining 8 OTs of different modalities, carried out between May and August 2023 : OT for cutting and gluing magazines, OT with musical resources, an OT that aimed at a visit to the cinema and the consumption of a cinematographic production, two workshops carried out in sharing with service professionals, an OT for painting, an OT for poetry and one last photography OT. At the end, a new conversation circle of an evaluative nature was held. The research data was produced and analyzed through recordings and the production of a field diary and interpreted in light of Bardin's content analysis. The results and discussion found three important categories for the discussion on the ways of conducting OTs: Subjectivation Device, Mad Machine and Disconnected Ambivalent Actions, which will be better explained in chapter 4. Finally, in the final considerations, we present some reflections on the action research path in a process of self-criticism, in order to explain the limits and potential achieved by action research, as well as its longitudinal aspect that places the investigation now in a new moment, resulting from this first investigative cycle that was born in the program professional master's degree in Health Psychology. The last chapter, Notes for the future, summarizes guidelines for carrying out OTs. At the end, the appendices will present the final product resulting from an OT process built collectively with users.

  • This final work was developed to investigate the effects of congenital viral infections on neurodevelopment and present ways of identification through the assessment of neuropsychomotor development. The study is part of the completion of the Professional Master's Degree in Health Psychology and is linked to the line of Research Human Development and Educational Practices in Health. Through a systematic review of the literature, the effects of infections such as COVID-19 were investigated. The review was chosen as a methodological model with the objective of synthesizing the main findings in the literature and pointing out directions for the actions of health professionals. After the results of the review, it was verified the need to develop computer material for professionals and the population on the risks of viral infections and on the signs of identifying neuropsychomotor delay. Thus, the dissertation is composed of two products, a bibliographical one, which is the review article, and another technical product, which is the informative booklet. First the review article will be presented and then the booklet. First the review article will be presented and then the booklet. Review Article: The objective of this study was to carry out a systematic literature review and create an informative booklet for parents and health professionals. The systematic literature review investigated the impacts on child neurodevelopment related to congenital SARS-CoV-2 infection, focusing on the neurological consequences that may have on the neuropsychomotor development of babies and children. The studies analyzed in the systematic review showed identification of signs of delay through neuropsychomotor assessment scales; exposure to congenital infection was divided between symptomatic and asymptomatic pregnant women and the results identified neuropsychomotor delay in 71.4% of the studies analyzed. The informative booklet was developed with the aim of guiding parents and health professionals on the relationship between congenital virus infections, such as the Zika virus and SARS-CoV-2, related to possible delays in neurodevelopment, covering fundamental information about viral infections , neural development, child development and neurodevelopmental disorders. The booklet's approach is accessible and aims to facilitate understanding for both parents and healthcare professionals, offering valuable guidance. This work contributes to the scientific literature and provides a comprehensive synthesis of the implications of child neurodevelopment in the context of congenital infections, seeking to impact clinical practice and family support through the creation of an applicable and relevant educational tool.

  • This dissertation is divided into three studies, whose central axis is the role of psychology in Intensive Care Units with patients who made use of Invasive Mechanical Ventilation. This tool is used as the main support for the treatment of critically ill patients with acute or chronic respiratory failure, but it triggers stressors and adverse emotional reactions, both during its use and during the weaning phase. With the Covid- 19 pandemic, there was an increased need for the use of mechanical ventilation and the more active participation of psychology in the care of these hospitalized patients and their families. Thus, this research had the following objectives: to analyze the hospital experience and the emotional aspects involved in the perspective of hospitalized patients who used mechanical ventilation; develop a psychological care protocol for patients undergoing mechanical ventilation; and prepare a proposal for a psychological care protocol for patients with Covid-19 in the process of weaning from ventilation. The qualitative approach, the action research method and content analysis were used. The data collection techniques used were semi-structured interviews with five hospital psychologists and eight hospitalized patients, as well as participant observation with six patients undergoing ventilatory weaning, in which the psychologist-researcher performed psychological interventions and recorded them in a field script. The researched place is a general public hospital located in a medium-sized city in the Northeast region, whose space has forty beds of adult ICU. The first study points out that the experience of patients undergoing mechanical ventilation is perceived as shocking, unpleasant, distressing and sad, but the physical therapist, the psychologist, the family and religiosity emerged as important devices in reducing anxiety. Significant alterations in memory, thinking, felt perception and disturbing dreams were also identified. The second study presents as a result a protocol aimed at patients undergoing mechanical ventilation and is structured in nine stages that cover therapeutic planning, evaluation and possible psychological interventions. The third study provided the improvement and adaptation of a psychology protocol aimed specifically at patients with Covid-19 undergoing ventilatory weaning, mainly supporting the management of anxiety, fear, loneliness and stigma. It is concluded that understanding the experience of hospitalized patients, analyzing the practices of intensive care psychologists and proposing intervention instruments can favor an improvement in the psychological assistance provided in the Unified Health System.

  • This dissertation is divided into two articles whose central axis is the acting of the intensive care psychologist in neonatal palliative care. In the approach to palliative care, its association with the terminal stage is frequent, especially when treating cancer patients or the elderly public. However, palliative care is applied at any period of the life cycle, from the diagnosis of pathologies incompatible with life and with little response to curative treatments, including in neonates. So, aimed to analyze the practice of psychologist in neonatal palliative care and elaborate a protocol that guides attention focused on promoting the practice of intensive care psychology, oriented to the Unified Health System (SUS). A qualitative methodology was used, with the design of Research of an Interventive Nature, of the Research & Development type. For the treatment of data obtained through individual semi-structured interviews, Content Analysis was used. Five hospital psychologists with experience in Neonatal Intensive Care Units participated in the sample. The places where the research was carried out are two public hospitals in a medium-sized municipality in the Northeast region, with 10 beds in each neonatal ICU linked to SUS. The first article analyzes and describes the acting of the hospital psychologist in palliative care in this context, obtaining three thematic categories from the data analysis: the challenges of approaching palliative care in the neonatal ICU; acting of psychology in palliative care with the multidisciplinary team; and, psychology interventions with the family and the baby in palliative care. It was observed that neonatal palliative care is rarely approached, often leading to its late adoption. The second text was composed by the protocol elaboration process based on the literature and collected interviews, suggesting the following strategies for action: evaluation of palliative care criteria; data on pregnancy and childbirth; information on diagnosis, treatment and prognosis; interaction with the team and bonding with the family; identification of the mother's emotional reactions; and the development of psychological interventions. It is concluded that analyzing the psychologist's practice in this field and proposing a protocol for action contributes to his doing, favors the humanization of care and allows greater visibility of neonatal palliative care in the SUS. We emphasize the importance of the instrument not being used in a technical way, as its power lies in offering possible ways for patients and family members to experience their pain with respect and dignity.

  • Body image is a person’s perception of their own body and the thoughts and feelings that come from this perception. It’s the way a person imagines how he/she is, how they see themselves or believe that others see and judge them. The construction of body image is related to components like body behaviors and feelings and the ability we have to recognize our body, its forms, and the limits between it and the space around us. This project aims to develop a humanistic intervention procedure more specifically person-centered using the sense’s version to provide changes on the perception of body self-image leading to improvement in people's self-esteem. To this end, the required and sufficient conditions for personality change will be presented and discussed, and the therapeutic process phases both postulated and developed by Carl Rogers.

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by changes in social interaction, communication, and behavior, in different degrees of severity. Dealing with the management of the child's needs with the diagnosis of ASD requires skills and resources from family members that can favor overload and, consequently, parental stress. Stress is triggered by parental perceptions that identify the events faced as above coping capacity. This overload can trigger the presence of symptoms of anxiety and depression, as well as physical health problems. The objective of the study was to evaluate the relationship of personality traits, coping strategies and social support with the level of stress, anxiety symptoms, depression in parents of children and young people diagnosed with ASD. This manuscript presents the results of the research carried out, as a requirement for obtaining the Master's degree in Health Psychology from the Professional Master's Program in Health Psychology (UFBA). It is organized into three independent articles. The first study investigated the evidence presented in the literature on how personality traits influence stress and coping in mothers of individuals with ASD. The method used was a systematic literature review, carried out in the following databases: Portal BVS-Psi, Scielo, PubMed and Medline, between 2009-2019. The main evidence points out that a high level of stress is present in mothers with children with autism, in 90% of the studies. The assessment of personality traits was not very expressive, with 15% of the surveys, but demonstrating that maternal stress is related to personality traits, with attention to neuroticism and extroversion. The second and third articles present the results of the research with a quantitative, cross-sectional design. A total of 346 participants participated, with a mean age of 37 years (sd = 6.48), in which 93.6% (324) are mothers and 6.4% (22) are fathers, from the five regions of Brazil. The research procedure consisted of online data collection, through the Redcap platform. To participate in the research, all agreed with the ethical aspects described in the Free and Informed Consent Term (FICT). Study 2 aimed to assess the emotional state (stress, anxiety and depression) and compare groups between parents of children and parents of young people with ASD. Parents were divided into three groups based on the age of their children: G1 0-5 years (M 3.64 years / sd 1.07), G2 6-11 years (M 8.0 / sd 1.61) and G3 over 12 years (M 16.30 / SD 5.2). Data analysis consisted of descriptive analysis, Spearman correlation tests, Kruskal-Wallis tests and post hoc Dunn's test, and multiple regression analysis. The results show symptoms of moderate to very severe levels, stress in 48% (n=149), anxiety in 50% (n=156) and depression in 46% (n=144) of the participants. The comparison analysis of groups by stage of development showed differences in Stress variables: Restriction of behavior in G3 (p<0.010) and Disability of the Child, in G1 (p<0.001). In the evaluation of behaviors, with the ABC scale, they presented differences in terms of Inappropriate Speech in G2 and G3 (p<0.001 in both), and in terms of Lethargy the difference was pointed out in G3 (p<0.003). The children's age and behavior make up a stress predictor model for this study (R²=0.33; p<0.000). Greater stress response was observed in parents of younger children and young people. Stress was also the strongest predictor of changes in behavior. This implies that more attention should be paid to the emotional states of the parents, considering the perception of severity of ASD behavior and the child's developmental stage. Study 3 evaluated the interaction of stress related to having a child with ASD, psychological distress, types of coping and personality traits of the parents. Data analysis consisted of Spearman correlation tests, multiple regression analysis and mediation. The correlations between stress and coping strategies: confrontation, withdrawal, self-control, escape, and positive reappraisal were weak to moderate, ranging from rhô from 0.20 to 0.30; p<0.001, For the correlations between personality traits with stress, anxiety and depression, Neuroticism showed positive correlations: Stress (ρ = 0.36 p<0.001), Depression (ρ= 0, 50 p<0.001), and Anxiety (ρ 0.38 p<0.001). While Conscientiousness showed negative correlations: Stress (QE-PTD) (ρ= -0.33 p<0.001), Anxiety (ρ= -0.17 p<0.001) and Depression (ρ= -0.38 p<0.001 ). In the regression analysis, the strategies of Escape, Confront, and Positive Reappraisal (R² = 0.16 p<0.000) and Neuroticism (R² = 0.15 p<0.000) as predictors of specific stress. In the mediation analysis, the indirect effects of Neuroticism were observed in the stress/depression [b = 0.3242 (95% BCa CI = 0.20; 0.45)] and stress/anxiety [b = 0.2269 ( 95% BCa IC = 0.1155; 0.3567)]. The results of the studies demonstrate that problem-focused coping strategies and the Neuroticism trait are variables that influence the emotional states (stress, anxiety, and depression) of parents with children with ASD. The work presents a model with individual variables that favors the understanding of the relationship between stress and coping in families, in the context of ASD. The early detection of behavioral changes, emotional states, coping strategies, and personality traits is a differential in the care and care of the family with ASD. More efficient interventions can be proposed regarding the type and quality of care, in the management of stressful events.

  • The present study proposes to evaluate the practice of online psychological care of Gestalt orientation, through the research-action cycle, for issues of social isolation. It started from the hypothesis that the gestalt clinic in the online modality would bring positive effects to people who experienced social isolation due to Covid-19 and observed emotional and psychological repercussions resulting from this experience. The specific objectives were formulated to identify the specifics of the virtual gestalt clinic for people in social isolation, to improve an online Gestalt-therapy practice with people in social isolation and to understand experiences of social isolation from the perspective of Gestalt-therapy. The accepted methodological strategy was action research, which comprises a cycle of problem identification, solution planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of its effectiveness. The intervention in an online psychological care model was essentially the source for data collection that took place between 2020 and 2021. The results were organized by presenting a mapping of the participant's movements in the trerapeutic process and identifying gestalt interventions aimed at short-term online clinical practice . We draw an understanding of the experience of social isolation, the experience of online consultations and the short-term gestalt-therapy effects online. Based on the field diary and audio records of the interviews, the content analysis of the findings pointed to the importance of a welcoming attitude, admitting expansion of the forms of contact, openness, presence, inclusion, authenticity and availability to the client are elements to be highlighted in the therapist's posture, which facilitate the therapeutic link in the online setting. We identified not only the participants' movements during the intervention, but also adjustment styles that could influence the experience of social isolation. We evidenced that people who were in social isolation experienced a change in routine that intensified or initiated initial emotional reactions such as fear, sadness, increased stress and loneliness. The effects of the intervention indicate movements of expansion of perception, development and growth, autonomy and self-support, reduction of suffering and changes in the flow of experience. Among the interventions that facilitated such results, it is possible to mention the application of awareness, heterosupport, reception, validation of feelings and facilitating the integration of the experience. Crisis management interventions were necessary in cases where physical symptoms showed up as a figure. Therefore, we consider from a technical perspective that short-term Gestalt therapy in the online modality proves to be efficient in dealing with issues of social isolation, emphasizing that social, political and economic issues influence the results obtained.

  • This research project aims to explore the phenomenon of adolescence, through a social, cultural and historical perspective. The analysis of the life project as a research instrument aims to capture the meanings given by the adolescents for their experiences, understanding it as a seed and fruit of the construction of identity. Here, identity is very problematic, since we apprehend it as a guiding thread for the dynamic elaboration of life projects. As a strategy for this problematization, we will use cinema and audiovisual workshops, since they are powerful discussion strategies. In addition, therapeutic workshops are aggregating spaces and, by themselves, expand the possibilities of connection and bonding between those involved

  • Considering that there may be specificities in the experience of psychological distress due to sexual orientations and gender identities, as well as the crossing of these by social determinants that produce subjective effects on the mental health of the LGBT population, this research aims to investigate the relationship between issues of gender, sexuality and psychological distress and to analyze their impact on the mental health of this population through the discourse of mental health professionals at the Psychosocial Care Center in the city of Vitória da Conquista - BA. It is a qualitative and exploratory research, in which it is proposed to conduct semi-structured interviews with 8 professionals from a mental health service, of any specialties, since, from the attribution of the technical team of the Ministry of Health, it is understood that such professionals have direct contact with users and family members served by the service. The chosen data analysis technique is Pêcheutian Discourse Analysis, since this perspective of analysis is able to investigate the process of producing meanings and subjects, considering subjective and historical elements discursively materialized, not individualizing the issues addressed in the research. As it is a research in the Professional Master's modality, a second intervention step is proposed, in which professional training will take place in four meetings lasting one hour in which, through a dialogical intervention, content related to the senses and the mental health specificities of the LGBT community identified during data analysis. The expected results for this research refer to the contribution to the promotion and rehabilitation of the health of the LGBT population as well as to the guarantee of rights, aiming to reduce the occurrence of prejudices and discrimination against this group within the mental health services, in addition to to encourage professionals to look at the specificities of health in this population segment.

  • The perinatal period is permeated with expectations regarding childbirth and the experience of the pregnant woman with
the baby, especially for primiparous women, who are experiencing for the first time the
imminent birth of a child. According to the literature, it is common to observe
psychological disturbances such as stress, fear, anxiety and depression during the period
perinatal care and on these disorders can be aggravated by external factors and situations, such as
the pandemic caused by Covid-19. As a prevention and assistance strategy for these
women can use perinatal education as a model of health care
mental health for pregnant women. In this sense, this work aimed to propose a
intervention with a mental training tool, from a multimodal program
of perinatal education. Participated in the research 104 primiparous pregnant women who were evaluated
variables that directly impact the childbirth experience through the application of a
pre- and post-test after the online meetings held and we compared the data found after
the intervention having the Covid-19 fear scale as a parameter to compare the
results. To assess participants for the program's impact on fear,
anxiety, depression and stress, the Reliable Change Index (RCI) statistical test was used,
in addition to descriptive treatment of the data. As a main result, it was observed that the
expectations created during the pandemic, influenced by fear and feelings of insecurity
with this scenario, they had a negative impact on the experience of childbirth. On the other hand, negative childbirth experiences explain part of the symptoms of postpartum anxiety and depression.
study, 07 psychometric scales were developed for the Brazilian context that may
be used by the scientific community to assess pregnant women and prepare
care and assistance during this gestational period.

  • Parenting practices represent an important variable in the psychosocial development of children, functioning as a risk or protection factor for the occurrence of behavior problems. Therefore, it is extremely important to promote positive parenting practices and expand interventional studies that contribute to this purpose. The present study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of an intervention aimed at guiding parenting practices for caregivers of adolescents in a situation of socioeconomic vulnerability. For this, a research was carried out using a mixed method (quanti + quali), of a descriptive and exploratory nature, with 36 participants, being 24 (20 mothers, 3 fathers and 1 legal guardian) in the experimental group (EG) and 12 (100 % mothers) in the control group (CG). The instruments used include the sociodemographic questionnaire, the Parenting Styles Inventory (IEP) and a questionnaire with open questions about the intervention performed. Quantitative analyzes were conducted using the R language, while qualitative analyzes were carried out using content analysis. The results of the quantitative analysis did not indicate statistically significant changes in parenting practices after the intervention, in the comparison between EG and CG. However, the comparison of repeated measures in the CG indicated significant differences in the dimensions Moral Behavior (d=-0.449), Neglect (d=0.440), Inconsistent Punishment (d=0.434), Negative Monitoring (d=0.709) and Physical Abuse (d=0.502). The result of the content analysis allowed the thematic grouping into four categories of analysis: 1) Difficulties and advantages of online service; 2) Technical aspects of the Interventions: guidelines and conduction; 3) Aspects of the effectiveness of interventions: observed changes; 4) Suggestions: improvement points. The results found point to positive changes, initially in the cognitive field (self-monitoring, changes in the way of thinking about the relationship) and also in the dialogue between parents and children. Most participants positively evaluated the way the intervention was conducted and the fact that it was online. The suggestions made by the participants propose the continuity of the project, the expansion of the number of sessions and the participation of the teenager as well. The study makes an important contribution to the expansion of interventional research with parents of adolescents, especially in the online modality. Furthermore, studies with mixed methods enhance the findings and may be relevant in deepening the phenomenon studied.

  • In this research project, under the light of Historic-Cultural Psychology, anchored by Vigotski, we have a focus on collaboration and implementation of a protocol to evaluate the childhood development of hospitalized children mediated by playing. The general objective of this research is to elaborate a protocol to evaluate the childhood development, mediated by playing, in a way to instrumentalize psychological professionals working in the Pediatric Sector in the Hospital Geral de Vitoria da Conquista. The research outline of the research is qualitative, of explorative and descriptive nature, making use of Research-Intervention as a way to specify the research. It will be investigated the thematical axis that involve the work of a hospital psychologist, the child development process and the evaluation of the development with playing as a Historical-Cultural focus. It is believed that the development of this protocol will allow a standardization to guide the Pediatric treatment, as well as bring many benefits to the children, considering the hypothesis that a non-hospitalized child, strictly speaking, is inserted in a social environment in which the relationships that potentialize their development and learning process and that, due to the hospitalization, show losses in comparison to the distancing of the bonds in a way that, through experiencing games and dialogue, it gives visibility to the feelings and meanings of the child, considering, also, that the experiences through playing will bring a better well-being to the child in the hospitalization process and will assure their mental health. Also, considering the revelance of playing, it is expected that this will become a mechanism used by professionals in a future moment, ensuring the establishment of bonds and a better relationship to execute the caring actions that the patients placed on Pediatric need.

  • Exploring the use of digital media might be a good strategy for educational practices in the pandemic scenario. This resource seems to be a good ally for health information and communication between the team and the families of babies hospitalized in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Communication between the team and the family is an aspect of great value among these caregivers, especially when it comes to information about the health of the newborn. This study aimed to produce and validate educational videos as an informative support tool of the multidisciplinary team for the families of babies hospitalized in the NICU. The validation of educational technologies is characterized as a methodological development research. Video production followed five operational steps: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. The Analysis phase consisted of systematic observation of the study setting. The idea of systematizing an observation was linked to operational research based on routine changes at the NICU in the face of the ongoing pandemic. The results of this observation originated the article entitled “COVID-19 beyond the disease: effects of the pandemic in the neonatal intensive care space in the light of Nightingale’s Environmental Theory”, which raised the possibility of investing in digital technologies as a tool to support the team’s information NICU health care for parents of hospitalized newborns. After this phase, the others followed, in a procedural way, which culminated in the videos entitled: “Prematurity”, “Monitor” and “Gastric Catheter”. These were validated by a commission of specialists according to their expertise in the themes and technology used, through quantitative and qualitative analysis. The participants were 14 experts from the multidisciplinary areas (13) and audiovisual communication (01) who evaluated the blocks: objective, content and quality of sound, image and animation. Closed questions were described using simple frequency and relative percentage, and open questions were submitted to Bardin's content analysis. The overall CVI generated values between 98.9 and 99.6%. The points of convergence of the speeches gave rise to three categories of analysis: 1) Reception of the family in the NICU mediated by audiovisual resources; 2) Communication between staff and family in the NICU mediated by audiovisual resources; 3) Health education about the NICU environment mediated by audiovisual resources. As in systematic observation, the speeches produced were in line with Nightingale's Theory. The experts associated the qualification of the ambiences of this theory (psychological, social and physical) with the improvement of the professionals' care processes with the family-baby binomial. They considered the videos sensitive, creative and welcoming in dealing with the themes and classified them as an innovative and intelligible support tool for the team with parents. We conclude, through the findings, that the use of educational video can have a favorable impact between team and family. Despite validation by experts, it is important to carry out further studies that assess its applicability with the target audience: parents.

  • Research on mental health in the university environment sometimes disregards social aspects that influence the students’ academic experience such as racism, sexism and LGBTphobia. Neglecting these factors prevents university policies of permanence and promotion of mental health from comprising the reality experienced by the many subjects that make up the university. Racism, as a structural phenomenon of the Brazilian society, establishes privileges and disadvantages based on the racial identification of the subjects, and is also reproduced in the institutional sphere. Thus, it impacts the access to non-white people’s material and symbolic resources in different contexts, including the university. Based on this understanding, the main objective of this dissertation is to understand how institutional racism influences permanence and the mental health of black and quilombola students at the university. As specific objectives, it seeks to: a) describe how mental suffering resulting from institutional racism affects the emotional, social and psychological life and the training of black and quilombola students; b) identify coping strategies against institutional racism built by students; c) design strategies that allow the welcoming and solution of discriminatory situations at the university; d) equip the university to fight institutional racism and its effects on the university community’s mental health. The final work is made up by three articles, which are in dialogue with each other. The first article, theoretical in nature, aims at reflecting on the impacts of racism on the process of mental suffering in black university students, and uses as reference the studies of black scholars. It discusses how institutional racism organizes relationships in educational institutions, and considers that its identification may give rise to the denaturalization of violence and the breaking of silencing mechanisms. It concludes by stating the relevance of historicizing the achievements of black people. The second article proposes a literature review through the combined use of the keywords: black students, university permanence, university, ethnic-racial relations and quotas on the following platforms: SciElo, LILACS and CAPES Theses and Dissertations Databank. It aims at discussing how institutional racism may influence the permanence of black and quilombola students in the university.  Data were organized into two categories: student strategies for permanence in the university and institutional programs for permanence of students, being possible to apprehend formal and informal strategies to confront institutional racism. We could identify the need for developing university policies that consider ethnical-racial aspects in order to fight institutional racism. The third article aims at presenting the results of the research conducted with self-declared black and quilombola students of the Multidisciplinary Institute of Health, Anísio Teixeira Campus, Federal University of Bahia (IMS-CAT/UFBA), in Vitória da Conquista.  A qualitative, descriptive study was conducted from August to October 2021, when online workshops were held with students from several courses. The analysis of workshops allowed us to conclude that institutional racism is experienced directly through epistemicide and discrimination due to belonging to the quilombola people, as well as indirectly through limited information about the policy on affirmative actions. We conclude, then, for the need to invest in a permanence program that links financial and psychosocial factors to the coping with institutional racism, involving the entire academic community. Then, as a product resulting from a professional Master's degree, we present the proposal of an institutional welcoming program for black and quilombola students at the university.

  • The digital revolution experienced worldwide is a strategy that makes remote access capable of
expanding healthcare services and increasing access for the population. Electronic health means
interoperability between health services and care practice, supported by information and
communication technology solutions, with the internet as the main vehicle for electronic/digital
processes in providing assistance to users. Technical evidence recommends the inclusion of
continuous remote care by teams in Primary Health Care (PHC), with virtual visits for monitoring
the health status. Given the possibilities presented by information and communication
technologies, the intervention actions of health teams in PHC and other levels of complexity may
include in their routine activities that can maximize results and optimize the use of resources. Thus,
the objective was to identify the main concepts, terminologies and the scope of e-Health actions,
telemental health interventions in PHC and systematize the most effective interventions for remote
care of adult patients with anxiety in PHC. This is a qualitative, integrative synthesis review of the
scientific literature on e-Health, telemental health and interventions directed to adult users with
anxiety in PHC. The central research questions were: what are the main conceptions and
approaches of e-Health and telemental health adopted in the scope of health care? Which
telemental health interventions aimed at adult users with anxiety within the scope of PHC are most
effective? Data collection was performed in indexed databases. A total of 313 articles were
identified and, after analysis, 60 articles available in Portuguese, English or Spanish, with full
access, were included in the final corpus. The results are presented in the format of the articles
produced: Article 1: Concepts, terminologies and scope of e-Health actions in healthcare:
contributions to the debate; Article 2: Mental health interventions mediated by Information and
Communication Technologies in the context of Primary Health Care; and Article 3: Synthesis of
scientific evidence on e-Health and telemental health practices in remote care for adult users with
anxiety in the context of Primary Health Care. It is expected that the results of the synthesis of
evidence can contribute to broaden the reflection and encourage the translation of knowledge and
the planning of systematic processes to apply scientific evidence to the local Unified Health
System (Sistema Único de Saúde [SUS]), as well as hopefully imply more quality and greater
    access to health care.
